　　联合国如同整个国际社会一样，面临着前所未有的机遇，也面临着非同寻常的挑战。为了更好地适应不断变化的世界，联合国需要继续进行改革，进一步提高效能。世界和平和发展需要联合国，而联合国的成功有赖于各成员国的支持与合作。中国愿同广大成员国一道，旅行联合国宪章的义务，为加强联合国在世界事务中的作用做出自己的努力。
　　Like the entire international community, the United Nations is faced with unprecedented opportunities and extraordinary challenges. In order to better adapt to an ever-changing world, the United Nations needs continue our reform and further improve efficiency. World peace and development needs the United Nations while the success of the UN depends on the support and cooperation of all its member states. Together with many other UN member states, China is ready to fulfill the duties prescribed in the UN Charter and to contribute its share to a strengthened role of this organization in the world affairs.

　　中国代表团愿就“关于国际经济关系”这一议程项目，陈述其立场如下：我们主张，国家之间的政治经济关系都应建立在互相尊重主权和领土完整、互不侵犯、互不干涉内政、平等互利、和平共处五项原则的基础上。我们反对任何国家违背这些原则，在任何地区建立霸权和势力范围。
　　With regard to the agenda item on International Economic Relationship, the Chinese delegation wishes to state its position as follows: we hold that in both political and economic relations, countries should base themselves on the Five principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggressive, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence. We are opposed to the establishment of hegemony and spheres of influence by any country in any part of the world.
